Welcome to Borgo Syrah

Welcome to Borgo Syrah

Nowhere else in Italy could you discover one location possessing all the allure, splendor and distinction of the high-end custom residences found at Borgo Syrah. This exclusive estate is situated on property of historical significance – land of medieval Italian notability – in Tuscany, a region celebrated for its striking beauty and remarkable art and architecture. Each well-appointed residence bridges traditional Tuscan styling with contemporary elements to produce a setting that is dually magnificent and timeless. Boasting picturesque views of cascading hills, fertile vineyards, lush olive groves, and pristine Italian gardens, this vacation retreat is one supremely alluring destination.

Most significant is the fact that the acquisition of a Tuscan villa or private apartment secures all property owners shared ownership of one of the most renowned vineyards in all of Italy – Tenimenti d’Alessandro, a winery producing the renowned Il Bosco and Magliara Syrahs, both of which received rave reviews and an amazing recent Wine Spectator rating of 95 and 98, respectively. Every owner has the great fortune to share in the wine production spanning four acres of the vineyard, which consists of an astounding 6,000 bottles of the winery’s yield each year, of which roughly 250 bottles are deposited into your very own wine cellar for your enjoyment, and that of your family and friends, year after year. This unique proposition is not to be missed for the individual of sophisticated sensibilities consigned to a lifelong passion for adventure blended with a love of great wine.

Properties

Imagine an exclusive luxury villa, in one of seven eighteenth century properties, perched amid the rolling hills of a region somewhere along the Italian countryside, then add in fractional ownership of the vineyard which rests on the sprawling estate of the prestigious Tenimenti d’Alessandro winery. Sound enticing? This is what investment in Borgo Syrah delivers. To enhance the appeal even more, let’s make the region Tuscany, one in which history, art and culture convene to form a rich backdrop to every vacationer’s sojourn. Now that’s ideal.

Characterized by the charm you would come to expect in villa ownership, the buildings of Borgo Syrah, which reside on the vineyard’s extensive grounds, comprise a farmhouse and its related outbuildings, all part and parcel of an ages-old farm that later was utilized to complement the workings of the winery. Today these seven properties encompass the bulk of the resort, which has been transformed into several private well-appointed apartments and three magnificent country houses, all of which feature fractional vineyard ownership. Each dwelling consists of a blend of the rustic and the contemporary, custom designed by one of Italy’s premier designers who also happens to be a co-owner of the winery. This fact alone signifies the level of attention relegated to the design and restoration of the property.

Aside from the land’s rich history and the beauty of the surrounding countryside, the appeal of Borgo Syrah rests in the private ownership of a Tuscan villa. Whether the attraction lures you toward a luxury apartment or one of the select country houses, each residence occupies an incomparable view facing an expanse of the estate, be it rows of grape vines, a copse of olive groves, tranquil gardens, or clusters of centuries-old trees. To further enchant, the living quarters share an abundance of material expressive of the area, such as terracotta tiled floors, traditional stone and brick work, and, in select quarters, period frescoes.

Where We Are

Aside from the splendor central to the whole of Borgo Syrah, Tuscany imparts a charm all its own. Comprising ten alluring provinces, the region invites exploration of all it has to offer. Its art and history spans the work of the early Etruscans all the way to the height of its Golden Age, an era which produced the likes of Michelangelo, da Vinci and the de Medicis. The region also is notable for producing writers, scientists, architects, musicians and artists, all of whom have placed their stamp on the world, as evidenced by the inventive experiments of Galileo, the grandeur of a Puccini opera, and the literary world of Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio. From the Etruscan theater and Roman baths at Fiesole, to the Gothic architecture of Siena, and the innumerable sites of Florence, every excursion here reveals a glimpse of history.

Cortona, itself, the home of Borgo Syrah, is poised for greater identification as the “centre for the good life,” as a result of expansion projects in this area of Tuscany. At Borgo Syrah alone, with the production of premium wines, the various expressions of Contemporary Art, and the development of village of wine enthusiasts, an extraordinary transformation is taking place, one in which high-quality wine production melds with superb relaxation and leisure facilities.

In just a few years, those who have purchased a property in this area will find themselves surrounded by a unique range of cultural and wellness facilities, proving this is an investment that will not only ensure impressive financial returns, but which also will also enhance quality of life.

In merging everyday life with the serene, we recognize that it is possible to enjoy a wealth of comfort and service in an area rich in history and culture, all the while preserving all that exists here. If anything, this is the one place in which to abandon the concerns of everyday life; for, after a day amidst the gardens or engaged in activity, you may enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace with a vibrant “salut” to the good life.
